This week's poll was suggested by Midlife_otaku. Pretty simple! How old were you when you started reading manga?

You can submit poll ideas here
http://www.mangaupdates.com/showtopic.php?tid=3903

Previous Poll Results:
Question: What should a scanlation group do if a series they're working on gets licensed?
Choices:
Continuing working on the series - votes: 1976 (72.4%)
Stop - votes: 755 (27.6%)
There were 2731 total votes.
The poll ended: July 30th, 2022 1:15pm PDT

So at what point should a scanlation group stop?

It was mostly related to unlimited internet connection + this website found. Not the age.

I hope it counts if manga was read to you because you were still learning to read... Dragonball, of course.

THe main issue is that official translations take wAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAy to much time if they start to translate something from scratch and it will take them YEARs to catch up. What they should do in my opinion is take the already translated work. Pay the translator properly and then edit any mistakes in the translator and fast release chapters.

Started reading manga after having watched a few anime in late 2020 during the pandemic, so 31. Not ashamed that the first stuff I read happened to be hentai out of pure curiosity -- I'd never seen anything like that in my life (I wasn't raised with the internet). Then switched to normal, wholesome BL.

Same. Pandemic boredom led to anime which led to manga. Opened up a whole new world. Something I never thought I would get into. Makes me wish I had taken Japanese when I was in school.

7 or 8, I think?
My brother used to collect manga. I read his collection of Doraemon and Detective Conan around that time. And then there were Miiko and Cardcaptor Sakura too. Those were some of my earliest manga I read when I was little.

I got to know anime and manga at the same time when I was 6-7 years old. I can't remember exactly knowing it's gone long way, maybe because my country was really active localizing many contents so I grew up with it as a kid. My father used to bought me Doraemon, Detective Conan, and many more.

Maybe 14? I first started watching anime when a mainstream channel got some good shows (I remember that Cowboy Bebop was airing on Adult Swim around that time, but I didn't get that channel). Then I made some friends who also liked anime and they got me into manga as well.

Well I know for a certain reason that I was reading manga cover to cover from the time Inuyasha Volume 15 released in the US which according to wikipedia was 2003 when I was 12. So I was either 11 or 12 when I started.

So at what point should a scanlation group stop?

Either when the series is done, or when a publisher is releasing high-quality simulpub chapters like mangaplus.
