Also about the birthday issue, Kubo Tite can decide whatever kind of birthday his character has. ._. He's the mangaka, after all. xD And giving a birth date to each of his characters, is a form of fan service~

And what would be the point of giving birthdays? Well, according to Aizen, knowing your own birthday is a sign of happiness.

Let me quote the conversation that happened during Hitsugaya's birtday.

Hitsugaya:
"... To the people who grew up in Rukongai, birthdays don't really exist. If you're born into royalty over here(Seireitei), then it might be different.

Aizen:
"... We're all the same. No one actually remembers the exact date of birth. You just have to believe the date that someone you trust tells you. It doesn't really matter if it's real. The fact that you know your birthday is already a sign of happiness."

So it doesn't really matter in the Soul Society world whether your birthday is legit or not. You can just pick a date you see fit, and then celebrate that day from now on as your birthday. After all, your birthday is in the end just a regular day, no? But because you know your birthday, you feel acknowledged, especially if other people celebrate that day with you, which makes it even more special.

Your birthday is some sort of proof that you exist. It's an important moment for us. And for some who don't know their birthday, choose a date that's important to them.

For example, Rangiku didn't know her own birthday too, so Gin suggested that her birthday would, from now on, be the day that they met.

Gin:
"Hey, when is your birthday, Rangiku?"

Rangiku:
"I don't know. I never really counted days until I met you."

Gin:
"... Then, the day you met me is your birthday. How about that, Rangiku?"

So from then on Gin would always be connected to her. He's important to her. Her birthday is real, in the fact that it is a special day to her.
