Anyone here know how to fix body pans or know how a body pan of a car breaks? The one on my mom's car deteriorated. It was like something chewed it off. It's all jagged. But, i was the one driving it so...I'll probably get yelled at.
I only know of 1 way of how a body pan gets destroyed, a leaking battery which makes the pan rusty.

Well we did that thread asking what to do when one gets burned (in the literal sense)... 🤣 I don't think Mangaupdates has a big enough demographic though. I would think all the people that could afford cars and are knowledgeable about them would be busy with other things beyond a forum. I think ippy should go to Yahoo! Answers and also do some research (there's no guarantee about how accurate a quality answer might be and since it's your car, you might not want to take much of chance...). Or there's http://www.howstuffworks.com/. But then why didn't you Google for help then? 🤣 😳 (I'm not being mean on purpose though, since I may end up asking a similar type of "help me, please" question, maybe by accident, in a forum. 😳 )

Well, I know nothing about cars and I don't really go to any forums but mangas, dramas, or neopets. I went to games forums but that was ages ago and my real life friends aren't much help when it comes to cars, neither is my family. I figured it'd be fine since it was in the chatterbox and it was kinda random. People post things like left or right or religious stuff or the lunar eclipse (that topic was nice!) so I thought it was fine. If you don't like it, close or delete the topic.
I tried google and since i don't know much about cars, it was no help. I never use yahoo answers unless it comes up on google. Though you are right and it probably is more help than this forum would be.
Also, it's not my car, it's my mom's. If it was mine, I'd take a bit longer than an hour after I found out about it to try and fix it.
I didn't know what a body pan was until I looked it up on the net, too.

The best thing to do is have a mechanic look at it. No matter how much info the internet has, I would hand the car to a pro. 😃 Chances are, it might not be your fault at all.

Knowing me and my past, it probably is my fault, thanks for trying to help though.
I probably will bring it in for a mechanic to fix it but whenever I have problems I try to at least figure out how to solve it myself, for next time.
Passat, Volkswagen, dunno year.
I knew there was someone who knew something about cars.

Don't know much. But unless you're absolutely sure that you know what to do, bring it in to a mechanic because you never know when you're going to screw up.

Well, the only harm in messing with a broken car already is that I might have to pay more money to get it fixed, but I kinda want to know what I can do just in case this happens again. I don't always want to send it in to get it fixed. Mechanics cost so much money.

Maybe your car manual that came with the car would have a few pointers here and there then.
