I loved this series to death before, but now...really, if this had not been written by the person who made deathnote, I would have quit today. It's just stupidly repetitive now, and the art is just crap compared to the first 50 chapters. It's so cartoonish, and the actual plot, which was going very quickly at the beginning seams to have disappeared. The love relation is really childish now, at first it seemed like a good idea, but now, it's hard to believe that they are adults... Really, there is no longer any plot, just a bunch of losers who really have no time on their hands...What a waste for a series that had so much potential...

I agree with everything you say with one exception - I don't really think Bakuman is that bad. It's just different from what we are used to. It's not action-packed, doesn't have a consistent plot, but it's good to read too. But I must admit that the quality of art deteriorated, which is not good 🙁

What I liked about this chapter was the mention of manga titles that really exist. It makes the manga more realistic, as it was in the beginning (like when Takagi mentioned Death Note in chapter 1 🙂 ). All these discussions about fictional manga in previous chapters made me a bit confused.

i agree too. in fact, for those who's reading this manga and have just read a few, this chapter will help them to read more manga that was mentioned here.

although the art deteriorated (which is somewhat true) but at the very least it suited the story line. remember, this isn't any battle or action-packed manga. still, the competition and rivalry the story shows makes this manga interesting. if not because of it, this manga might have already been axed at the start of the series.

This story was supposed to be realistic, seeing the first couple of chapters pointed that out. When it goes cartoony, the whole realism that it's built is lost, taking away any seriousness in the story.
