Harem Member Out of Your Grasp
This is a merely hypothetical situation, exclusive to harem manga. You know how those main leads always seem to have the talent to attract pretty great people no matter how lame they may be? Let's say that you have the chance to go inside the manga and meet your favorite harem girl/guy, and you try to win her/him over. But no matter what you do, since you are in that manga, your efforts will all be in vain. Since they only love that lame protagonist.
Would you still take up the chance knowing all this? If so, what would be your most desperate attempt to win her/him over even though it might not amount to anything? Would you kick the protagonists' ass for frustrating you so? I mean, you're obviously more talented, attractive, etc. than him/her, yet s/he's more succesful. 🤣
I myself would take the chance just for the experience of it all. 😮 Plus even if I can't "win her over", I could still be friends which is more than enough.

I would definately take the chance.
And I'm easily pissed off, so I would go for the 'kick the protagonist's ass' strategy ^^.
I would do anything to make that one guy fall for me
here comes the devil!
lol ^^ 😛
My picks are most of the time, not the one expected. So in the end, the pathetic protagonist gets the girl meant for him and my pick is free. Even if she may have lingering feelings, the chance to win her over is high...unless the character I liked was the main girl...

If my favorite guy is a (shounen) harem male lead, would that be easier or not for me to win him over? I am pretty confident to compete with those girls. 😉 I chose "yes". The chase itself can be fun. Who wouldn't want to experience what's like to live in Air (Key)?

I'd still go for her.
The thing about the scenario is, you have an advantage - we know how the girl fell for the main guy in the first place.
By re-enacting the scene/moments of when the girl falls in love with the main character of that particular manga.
Let's take Ichigo 100% for example.
If I beat Manaka to meeting with Aya and help her with her stories, encourage her and what not. Wouldn't I, in essence, be taking over Manaka's character for Aya? =D
Of course, I'm assuming we get to get into the series from the start. If not, I'd still go for her.
FIGHT ON!
Like Doc, I'll also be satisfied with just being friends...(and grow old single OTL )

Basically this. I'm sure I wouldn't go for the main girl anyways 🤣

if my target not main girl, than i will have hope. Then i just wait until the main protagonist choose main girl and my target is free to get 😁

It all depends if I KNEW I was in a harem manga.
If I didn't know I was in a manga, then I'd try one time and then only one more time after a few months or years. And when I fail, I'd just stick with being friends while I try to get with another woman because there's no use in trying over and over and over and over if she already turned me down the first and second time. And besides, it's not a situation where I'm in love with her, it's a situation where I just like her.
If I knew I was in a manga, then I'd just leave her alone without even getting into that situation. Since I know I'm in a harem manga, then I'd be real genre savvy and I would know that if she was into a dude that's like the main character, then I'd have a 0% chance of getting with her and it would just be a waste of time that could've gone to me doing something positive with my life.

Well, I voted yes. Only b/c I'd go School Days on everyone 🤢 . Simply for the fact that 1) I'd be pissed and 2) To save the reader from an otherwise faceless mundane harem manga. Of course this is assuming I know I'm in a harem plot.

I definitely take the chance. Like a bunch of other people, I would just wait until the main "relationship" wraps up and then snap up my favorite since he'd be sad from not being chosen. Or just become friends with all of the harem people and mess with the relationships by giving everyone bad dating advice. 😛

The same, excepting that I am a girl going after a guy. I almost never like the 'main choice' character(s), so my chances are very high.
At the least, it would be fun to jump inside a manga and have the experience.

For sure, I would, mainly because I usually go for whom the protagonist doesn't.
