it says we have majority male...

Well the guys can read shoujo and not be part of the group that reads yaoi. Or maybe the groups consisting of girls are more efficient or active?

It's not a big majority. Maybe the girls didn't vote. Shoujo and yaoi series tend to be shorter, so it's easier for an author to do more of them. Looking at the series stats, the most read series tend to be shounen.
