U know how Ichigo's dad was a shinigami and all that but lost his powers right?
then does that mean ichigo is going to lose it as well?

hmm. Depends why his Dad lost his powers. If he loses them naturally at a certain age, then Ichigo might, too.

No, it's not. I'm pretty sure Isshin did do something knowing fully well he would lose his powers doing so... So it was a conscious descision. Ichigo's power wouldn't dissolve naturally. I mean, he's the main character.

Honestly, I think Ichigo's Dad gave up his power in order to truly become human, instead of just having a gigai.
I think we need to find out why everyone left from Soul Society in the first place.

um, Urahara made a gigai that would slowly drain the powers of a shinigami and eventually turn one into a human, did people forget that or something?
Isshin married Masaki, had 3 kids, did you think that wasn't a reason for leaving the soul society? Masaki played a major part in Isshin's leave of the soul society one way or another.
Isshin gave up his powers by choice, it wasn't a natural process for shinigami to lose power by age, or else Yamamoto would be freakin weak right now. Ichigo will be just fine, and the last chapter of this series will probably end with a shot of him in his shinigami form.
This isn't like diebusters, where you lose your topless powers after a certain age...
