Mind helping me?
Any help is appreciated.
i couldn't find any posts, so if they are any, so sorry then. but my situation here it is:
This is very important to me, you might say it's just a child's dream blah blah, but i take this very seriously.
I'm a high school student, [gonna be third year hopefully] and for a few years i've been trying to know as much as i can about how much does a trip to japan costs, and what you should do.
I can speak fluent english and spanish [if that helps>.>] and I'm gonna be studying computer technology and such, and I just want to ask for some help here if you guys could. I figured that proffesion will leave me with some benefits or so but i'll start saving earlier. umm: if you have any tips on what i should know etc... about a trip to japan, like how much will it costs in the different seasons, and what the hell is JR pass, i've heard it countless times in the web, i still don't know what is that... and just like if you could give me some really good tips on how much money i should have ready to go there?
and would getting one of those people that show you around [ i forgot whats' called] a good idea? how the hell do you do that in the first place?
I live in The us [new york] btw.
some hotels i should know about?
cost of stuff etc..

A JR pass is for the Japan Rail system, so you can travel conveniently. Buying a pass for an extended period of time is preferable to paying on a per trip basis.
I haven't been to Japan, but I've been to Europe, and you're probably going to want to save upwards of $10-15k for an extended trip (depending on length), including air fare, for say a month or two.
Finding a tour group with a tour guide (the word you were looking for) is potentially a good way to go. A good tour group will get you around the country to see the major sites for significantly less that the number I quoted above. (Perhaps only $5-8k instead.) It does really depend on what you want to do while you're there and how long you plan to do it.
Talking to a travel agency can help with some of these things, like finding good tour groups. Internet research is also useful - just make sure it's a reputable group. (Check the Better Business Bureau, for example.)
If you've ever thought or said "Nice Guys finish last" and really meant it, then you should probably read this LJ post by DivaLion. It's incredibly insightful whether you're male or female.
