well it was 7 years ago or was it 8 i forget. but this anime was airing on fox i really liked it but i never got to finish it. so today i was bored and my mind kinda wondered off and somehow that anime came across my mind. i was like sigh "i wish i could finish watching it, but what was it called." then i remembered what happened in the first 2 episodes. this girl was i think practicing long jumping when a dragon popped out of nowhere followed by a boy. the dragon and the boy fought and eventually the boy won. after he won he took the dragons heart and went back to his own world bringing along the girl. after that i remembered bits and pieces. the boy was a prince. he used the heart to awaken this mech that could tranform into a dragon. also he had wings. the girl could read signs in cards. the boys kingdom was attacked. thier was a blond dude involved in this to. after i thought about it the name escloflowne or what ever came into my mind. a summery i once read about the anime was something about a girl going to a new world. is this anime esclowfone or is ti something else

Pretty sure it's Escaflowne, though as I recall she was a runner rather than a long jumper (been a while since I saw it, though...) There doesn't seem to be a manga for it.

Actually, there are two manga versions listed on this site. Three, if you count the anthology of short, related stories.

Yeah, I was just looking under "Escaflowne", and for that there's just some kind of anthology thing.

The Vision of Escaflowne is a 26-episode series. The first half of the show aired on Fox Kids heavily edited before eventually being cancelled. There was later a condensed version of the original series, Escaflowne: The Movie. There are also at least two manga, which differ greatly, one shonen and one more shoujo that came after/was based on the anime.

I agree...The shoujo version has a good storyline, compared to it's shounen version. If I'm not wrong, the shounen version was licensed by TOKYOPOP! 😕
Looking for seijin genre, like: 1+2=Paradise, Manga Bangaichi and Lemon People.
