I know a lot of people dog on DBZ now, but honestly [at least for me] nothing can be better than that first change into super saiyan, every other power-up pales in comparison. Oh man... that was a great day!!!!!! 😃

The improvement happens in the weapon and then it affects the user, and that is what I loved (I hate the way family blood gives you an advantage, genius can always be surpassed with hard work and extreme motivation).
I also found Nightmare Luffy interesting but it is just a random power up and won't possibly happen again.

I don't disagree with your opinion about Guts (and Ichigo if you consider my vote) but we are talking about the powerups and not the coolest character, which you justify in your post. That is why I prefer Bankai from Berserk Mode, even though I don't really like Ichigo or some others caracters who have achieved it in Bleach.
P.S. and considering what you said you should agree that Zaraki Kenpanchi or the most character in One Piece express better what you said. Plus by no means you can say that Guts is an epic character.

Jio from 666Satan becoming satan and using his powers is great. Also, I don't know if it counts since it's just kind of an ability, but Archer and Shirou's Unlimited Blade Works is the coolest thing ever in my opinion. 😎

I read the first 20 volumes of Dragon Ball, but i don't think that was enough to get to Super Sai.

       Hmmm, coolest Powerup,  I guess i'd go with bankai, because there are so many different variations. That is what i like about Bleach too, even if the Story sucks and the fights are getting boring, but the mangaka never seems to run out of ideas for new wierd looking characters and their bankais. 

EDIT: Doesn't really count as a power up, but i love it when in Eden or Ghost in the Shell somebody that looks more or less normal suddenly extends a retracktable cyber-limb and thrusts a knife in somebodys eye or somehting equaly surprising and mighty.

i dont watch as many action anime as i used to, but no1 powers up like dbz characters!

Fansubs and Scanslations are the best! But when official releases come out, support the anime industry by purchasing your favorite series! (Geneon -R.I.P, Central Media Park - get well soon, ADV Manga - you're back from the dead?!)

On the list I'd go with Fusion. Not just because of yaoi but because it could backfire if you did it wrong.

Though most dramatic powerup I've seen goes to Enishi (Kenshin). That was just pure hate.
