I learned how to pump gas

Don't all you need to do is just push downward and then pull the handle back up again? 😲 Amazing!

Today, I learned that some people in certain state coughtexascough still believes that the Earth was LITERALLY created 10,000 years ago by God. FYI, most modern day Christians believe God started the Big Bang and acted as a starting force to these series of event rather than being the actual creator.

Oh my, that's not just Texas, my high school still teaches that. They require 4 years of religion and 3 of science. It's common in any state below the Mason-Dixon line, but then again my high school was also all girls. We were also discouraged from pumping our own gas. Ugh small southern towns are the worst. Most of the girls in my school were fairly intelligent though, most of them..... some of them though... ugh... I live near near a marsh (I don't spend much time there, though) and the theory is that it exudes a poisonous gas that can limit the mental capabilities of the people who live too close. This is why rednecks are presumed to be so crazy. They really are too. I have some redneck stories....

I learned that I should use another person's cell phone since I don't have one and call home when I'm finished with my task early to ask my dad to pick me up NOW.
Yup 🤣

I learned that you should never try to recreate an oil painting with colored pencils and expect it to look decent.

I learned that chain mail did not refer to the armor that was worn, but simply the "cloth" that the rings made. I also learned the difference between hauberk and byrnie.
