Hrm. The first guy I "dated" online, I never met in person until after we had split up. We never overcame the inter-continental problem. (Me USA, him Sweden.)

I met a couple of other guys online that I liked, but the distance was an issue since neither of us wanted to move to where the other was, even after we met in person. (They're still friends, though.)

The last guy I met from online, we met in person and hit it off. I drove up to see him and meet his parents, and then he came down to live with me since he didn't have a job, and I did. We were engaged in 2 months and married at 6 months. We've now been married for just over 5 years.

I've always thought one of the most interesting things about the Internet is that it brings people together and keeps them apart at the same time.

There was also a guy who travelled all the way to america, to propose to his online girlfriend, only to discover she never existed.it had been a guy tricking him.

🤣 Whoa, that's mean!

Erm, I think it's a bit weird and probably not for me (for various reasons). But I don't doubt it's possible to meet someone you'll love online...

Well, i have to admit i did have an online relationship before with a girl 5 years older than me in New Jeresy... we met online and we just had alot in common and that was that. End result was that it lasted for 4 months and it was based purily on sex... it was fun while it lasted. 🙄

With the term relationship do you mean in an intimate level or also friendly?
I happened to meet 11 years ago a guy in a yahoo chat room with a name that sounded too "Greek" - the channel i was wasn't a greek one (and yes i am Greek 😛 ) - so out of curiosity i talked to him, and proved to be one. After that for a year we were talking regularly on net, then i had to move to the same town as he and since then we became very very good friends - i consider im one of my buddies.
After some time my friend met a girl via internet.. so in order to make it short...they are married atm and live happily. I've went to their wedding - 10hours driving from my town-, and once per year i am paying em a visit.

Conclusively : Yes it may happen, and you may meet the one you could share the rest of ur life with.

EDIT: And gratz for ur 1st thread Azuka 🙂 Keep going

My friend had an online relationship then flew out to meet his girl (8 hour flight or more) proposed to her, married her and is still married to her 4 years later. So yeah, it does work sometimes. Of course you will have to meet eventually and at that point it can all change but not always.

just creepy.

You don't know who's on the other side. And if you are a girl this is the last thing you want to do. Cause guys who actually tries to date online are either boring or missing body parts, or make two face look like a model.

Which ever one it's not a possibility, just think of it this way why is this person hiding behind a monitor what does he have to hide.

or make two face look like a model.

Half of his face is SUPPOSED to be good looking, but I guess it depends on taste and which model of two-face you're looking at.

It's depend of the case.
I think if you really love the person it may work...
I already had a online relationshi. At first it's was really good, we met each other in a anime event, but in the end we stopped to talk because there's was nothing interesting to talk about, so I broke up wih him.
In the end I think i didn't loved him =/

All the girls in the intrawebs are my girlfriends. 😎

I guess that applies to the guys as well.

Because this means two people are cheating on you?

I really don't have a problem with it. As long as communication is not limited to chatting online, it should be similar to a long distance relationship that will hopefully culminate in meeting and getting together in real life.
I think any relationship is difficult, distance just makes it more so. If you both work at it to keep it going, then there's no reason as to why it shouldn't work out. That is, of course, if you both are who you say you are.
