Since the new year is almost upon us, I decide this week's poll would be about your plans for the next year. Feel free to elaborate in the comments!

You can submit poll ideas here: https://www.mangaupdates.com/topic/kilkdnn/site-manga-poll-suggestions

Previous Poll Results:

Question: Which of the following do you consider the most problematic type of love interest?

Choices:

  • Childhood friend - votes: 80 (2.9%)
  • Adopted child becomes lover - votes: 753 (27.4%)
  • Loli/Shota or extreme age gap - votes: 1235 (45%)
  • Non-blood related sibling - votes: 93 (3.4%)
  • I hate all romance - votes: 81 (2.9%)
  • I like all romance - votes: 342 (12.4%)
  • No opinion - votes: 163 (5.9%)

There were 2747 total votes. The poll ended: December 27, 2025

What if they look young but are actually 1000 years old (like ancient dragon in tiny human body)?

Unfortunately going through a divorce and that means moving across the country to the state I was born and absolutely despise so I unfortunately picked the option that the few trolls we have (about 2% of the mangaupdates voters are just overtly trolls every week lol) will join in on, "I'm planning that things will be worse"

Where is "Hoping for better, trying to at least not to be worse"?

The poll options are kind of confusing, I'm not sure what to pick...

The way the question is phrased makes it sound like it's asking if I'm planning on changing things, but the answers kind of sound more like they're answering if you think the upcoming year will be good or bad and if you've got plans to deal with that? Because otherwise it seems like it's asking if people are intentionally planning to make their own lives worse on purpose, which is pretty weird.

Like am I planning to actively try to change things in my life for the better? Yes.

Do I think that given the state of my life, my health, and the current circumstances both personal and external, that things will likely ultimately be worse this upcoming year? Also yes.

There's so much going on that's just largely or entirely out of my control, that my best efforts wouldn't be able to change them, and so realistically I don't have a positive outlook for 2026, but I'm not planning to make things worse, I'm still going to do what I can.

I'm thinking this next years is gonna be a major change for the better. These past 2 months already have been, but the beginning of February is when it should start to positively affect my financial situation. Here's hoping my car's transmission lasts long enough for me to use it until I can afford to repair it (4th and 5th gear are making a soft but loud grinding noise, and while the old fluid had no shiny bits, I've already determined, with professional help, that there is nothing else wrong that might cause the symptoms).

People talk about "new year resolution" each year, but I never have one. Even if I did, I think I've just forgotten about it before the 1st day even begun. 🤣

So I choose "No plans, but I bet things will change anyway". Who knows if it will be better or worse. I just want to survive and enjoy another year in this bleak, corrupted and polluted world.

PS: I'm wondering about those who chose "I'm planning that things to be worse" though.. how do you plan bad things to happen though?

"I'm planning that things will be worse" is a pretty depressing option. Hopefully the year will treat you guys to at least few pleasant surprises.

I'm hoping for the best myself, planning on putting a good, inky dot on the health ailment business.

Wishing everyone strong health and good tidings this year!

The wording is confusing but "I'm planning that things will be worse" since I'm severely sick and there's no improvement ahead. But sure, having extra time to binge manga/manhwa is a silver lining.
