I think it would be good to have a thread to say what we think about the mangas that are being written in this manga... or were written in the past.

I am short of time, but I will say, that I don't like Tanto's premise >_<
And Detective Trap sounded like crap... at least that's what I felt after reading what it was about, and how was developing.

I do like the premise of Nizuma + Aiko manga... about the choosen kids... sounds like a cliche, but also sounds interesting.

I really think Tanto is complete garbage. It's gimmicky and many of the ideas are quirky just for quirkiness' sake. I have a suspicious feeling Nizuma might use his "one cancel" card on Tanto, if just to save Ashirogi from mediocrity (either that or he becomes a bastard later in the series...which is doubtful and cheap).

Trap on the other hand sounded more like a novice's work...it didn't exactly seem bad or anything, just amateur. Sort of like the early title you see at the beginning of a successful author's works list, that the author usually isn't too keen to talk about.

Sort of makes me wish the publishers put out a companion book with 2-3 chapters of many of the series we've seen (hiring up-and-coming mangaka to fill it with different styles, that sort of thing). It could be a volume-sized book. Although I don't know if it has the audience to make it sell.

I have to say I don't like the idea of Tanto either, it seems childish. I agree with VinManAgent that Niizuma might cancel Tanto just because he wants to see a proper Ashirogi work. Trap sounded like it would have gotten redundant or just boring after awhile. I'm looking foward to see what they do next and I hope Tanto isn't their big success story. Also I think Money and Intelligence would have been a good read though not very long.

I don't like Tanto either.. Ashirogi doing kids' manga just doesn't work well.
Trap was the average shounen manga. You don't hate it but it doesn't peak your interest either. Or an amateur manga, as VinManAgent11 nicely put it.

As for Eiji + Aiko, not only does their manga sound good but even the combo of them as artist & author seems interesting. The goofy + serious pair.

Ashirogi's "Money & Intelligence" sounded interesting, but too bad they only did it as a oneshot. They should do something like that for a series.
EDIT: yes, Heirojero! exactly what im thinking.

I don't like Tanto either. I want something like Money and Intellegence instead. I think Trap was good enough (reminds me of Death Note, can't help it >.<) but not very dark. That's why they should finally try something really serious and even a bit depressing. Comedy is not for Ashigori!
Crow is just a good shounen so I'm not sure if I'd get interested in it ^^
Natural seems both dark and with some type of challenge in the plot, sounds intriguing for me.
Aoki's work is something like Aizu, am I right? Then I don't mind it.
About Fukuda's manga... I can hardly imagine what exactly it is like but I'm pretty sure it's just not for me.

Ashirogi is the next invited star to the show, and I am very interested in this development, neither of them like Tanto... and I like how they portrait how Editors can guide authors in both good and bad ways (Hatori is guiding NAtural in the RIGHT direction... mean while that FOOL is just a shitty comedy junky)

FINALLY Mashiro realizes that he can't go on with Tanto anymore and Takagi's also reached his limit. We've all been waiting for this, for them to quit Tanto and move on.

I kind of understand why the author pairs the newbie editor with Ashirogi. They're both amateurs in the business, so that makes it easier for him to show their development. After the Tanto arc, I think both Ashirogi and Miura will become more mature (though it'll probably take longer for Miura to realize his faults, seeing how he was so persistent on a comedy and even succeeded in persuading Ashirogi).

I still don't like how Aiko got to be with Hattori while Ashirogi had to get some inexperienced editor.
