Well everything has pretty much been said, so I'm gonna go on the subject of how Shounen is ruining everything else. My favorite Seinen, Berserk, has been tainted beyond recognition. Guts battling some inner evil that gives him unimaginable power but threatens to take over his soul... sound familiar? Traveling with a bunch of little brats that just can't be killed, even though it's friggin' Berserk. ARGHHHHH!

I hear ya. Most of those character are completely pointless. (Especially Schierke). Why can't it be more like it was in The Band of the hawk arc? One more thing: Who the hell's decision was it to make Casca a freakin' retard!? I can understand being scarred for life because of the rape, but her losin' all her memory like this just goes way too far. All in all, Berserk has become way too Shounen.

The inevitable martial arts tournament. One of the most overused plot devices there is.

The tournament is a pretty bad one indeed. The ONLY time I have ever seen it work is in DragonBall and only the FIRST time it was used then.

That is unavoidable in a sports manga. How silly would that be. In adventure mangas I agree.

Dark Tournemant was the awesomest!!! Didn't like the Makai Tournemant, though. Really unnecessary. There should have been an all-out war between the three armies. One final battle at the end between Yusuke, Kurama, and Hiei.

yeah. And I also think Yusuke soulda kept the long hair and marking on his body. He lookes f**king sick like that. I'd also like to see Yusuke's demon side take over and him go totally outta control and fire a demon gun at Mukuro. Then Hiei would jump in front of the blast and die in the process. So romantic! (okay, was it just me or did that last sentence sound really gay?)

Ohhh, I thought of another one!

Where the main character has a lot of dead people around him, or has killed a lot of people, or someone just got killed right on top of him, and he gets up, and he DOESN'T HAVE A FREAKING SPECK OF BLOOD ON HIM.
Or when he has blood on him in one page after this, and then when the love interest comes along, it magically disappears. XD

Also how the main characters ALWAYS, WITHOUT exception, have a love interest. I have not found A SINGLE BLOODY MANGA, where, within 6 volumes(was the most I think), the main character hasn't found at least one love interest.

Does the walker choose the path, or the path the walker?

I do not like weak, pathetic, pervy, loser protagonists. I dislike it even more if they never really improve, but end up getting the girls anyway. I do not see why any girl would want guys like that, and yet the girls that fall for them are almost always the pretty and nice ones. I wonder why they have so many of those? 🤢

I also don't like it when there are too many power-ups. It's like, "Oh look, a strong enemy! I must make myself 10 times as strong as I am now to defeat him/her." Character gets stronger and beats enemy. Enemy gets a sudden surge of power and beats character again. Repeat cycle some number of times or something like that. I like something like Full Metal Alchemist where Ed relies on his skills and brain to get out of situations rather than simply becoming more powerful than his opponents.
