The worst cliche I think two character run at each and attack simulataniously one starts bleeding and two seconds later the other one goes down.

Mmm, or the main character has to be a wide-eyed idiot-type with strange hair. Can't forget the "sudden and unexpected" meeting with a supernatural, nonhuman, or super strong girl that changes his life.

Dumbass, incompetent, nose-bleeding, hot-blooded, blandly named kid as the protagonist. Who always seems to beat everyone and come through in the face of overwhelming odds and the presence of much cooler, likeable and competent characters.

It's really something authors HAVE to include to get published in a shounen magazine. All the other, much more interesting characters are their real babies 🙂

Lately though, the trend has been to adapt seinen light novels into shounen anime, resulting in series with many of the same tropes, but better main characters.

The worst cliche ummmm
Maybe the main character always defeated but suddenly find the weak point of his enemy and win the fight instantly (the enemy never think someone will find this weak point so he never think about counter attack any move aginst this spot)
Or maybe the main girl generally stronger than the main lead but never gain power so she will one day be weaker and need to be protect by him so they ll fall in love...

And the i m 15 year old with no experience but i m better than anyone and there was nobody as good as i m in the past, present and future... but i continue to gain power and new enemy appear and always stronger but less than me (but if they add appear in the first chapter the hero will be already dead)

Hot blooded protagonist. MUST have spiky hair. Always.
Ie: Bleach, Naruto, Fairy Tail, and so forth in that manner.

Spikey hair that stands up. Guys with hair that looks like they stick their finger into a light socket for breakfast, lunch and dinner is just stupid. Some shounen did it well, like Black Cat's Train Heartnet, but it is just too much sometimes, like 90% of the DBZ male characters.

The fact that, whenever a friend or someone losses in a combat
nomatter how severe the injury, (like a hole through his chest or shoulder)
the dying character will keep on talking to the main character about something dreadfully important
for at least 5 pages

dying people aren't that energetic 😛

Shounen manga characters can´t have a power and simply use intelligently and skillfully without that being some technique that they have to name.

And power upgrades for tougher villains instead of... just using their skills... skillfully. And related to that, villains that are somehow stronger instead of just equal, then their predeccesors, so that no boss before the most immediate ones are even a threat.

An example is stuff like the trigun manga versus the trigun anime. A good adaptation that weeded out some of the unnecessary elements like a lot of named attacks, and upgrades.

A lot of these combine to make 99 percent of shounen manga veer off their premise and devolve into fight manga.

List of crap I hate:
Gifted Main Character [I am tired of seeing people who have insane special abilities...]
"Epic" Fight Scenes [It doesn't freaking make it epic when you stop after ever attack to make an "epic" scene with the main character showing his back to his enemy.[<--Think PowerRanger!] Nor does standing still 'cause you know your enemy is just bluffing. [<--Dumbest idea ever!]
Over coming the odds [I am tired of the underdog always coming out on top. Who had the great idea of making some whimpy kid destroy the "strongest enemies?]
Kamikaze! [If you are going to destroy yourself to kill your enemy.. DON'T BLOODY TELL HIM! BRILLIANT! I AM SURE HE WON'T ESCAPE IF I TELL HIM AN HOUR BEFORE HAND THAT I AM GOING TO EXPLODE MYSELF! WHAT A PLAN!]

I would freaking love to see a manga where the main character is trying to destroy the world..

worst cliche?

That is probably near and end or a very tuff bad guy "were the main charactor is out classed in every aspect of battle, intelligence, hight whatever you name it however...the villan desides yeah before i kill him i will talk a bit longer before i finish him...reveal all my diabolical plans for world domination, tell him im about too kill evrything he cherishes. **BANG OUT OF NO WHERE **a shit stain of **MAGICAL POWER **from the main charactor comes out and overpowers the villan in the name of love, and its raining sunshine dandylions and everythings FUCKING A!".

Seeing that realy pisses me of nowadays... 🤣
maybe i've watched too many things...

I believe in letting people do as they wish, as do I myself. Sometimes, of course, what I wish to do is kill them and they do not wish to die. This gives life interest.

when main character talks about friendship and how it has changed him or how friendship is important and proceeds to give the bad dude a huge lecture about what he is doing wrong, that he should change and friendz are important. Main protagonists who are soo kind-hearted that even if their friend turns evil and proceeds to kill other people and becomes completely ruthless, the hero still "believes" in that friend and makes him undergo a therapy session explaining that his actions are wrong instead of just killing him. characters not dying, a classic example of which is bleach. Their bodies are ripped into half, their limbs torn apart, bleeding profusely yet they survive...amazing!! Heroes who are too kindhearted and forgive easily. Hero losing in a fight against the villain, intense bleeing going on and then wham out comes out that stupid hidden power and yeaaa hez won and the hero himself has no idea what happened. Also i also dislike how in some mangas they try to emphasise or put forward the idea that hard work is more important than raw talent, like how even if the main character has a lack of talent if he works hard he can succeed. Then amazingly he manages to beat enemies who are "supposedly prodigies" all due to this hardwork and determination. That stuff is complete BS!!

Magically evolving weapons/skills/whatever that outclasses their enemies just as they're being thrashed around and about to lose. COUGHD.GraymanCOUGH

Who cares if i have never been fighting/competing/have not idea what i'm doing. I'll win anyway, because i'm mr main character and i will thrash all the bad guys despite them supposing to be REALLY strong. COUGHBleachCOUGH

It's okay if i lose, heck, i'll train and defeat him the next time by sheer "evolved skills" (refer to 1st point). COUGHCOUGHCOUGH
