I'm confused here, where do I start, the novel or the manga? The novels seem to be far more ahead than the manga, however I don't know which one to start with. What's the difference between them?
OR IS IT JUST A NOVEL AND THE MANGA A MANGA? LOL!?
(I know someone's gonna flame me...)

Go for the novel!
It's better, the manga seems to be lacking lot of stuff òÖ.

I've been reading up and it seems that the ZnT novel series has been dropped due to it being licensed... Weak... Manga it is then!

Start with the anime. Then the manga. Then the novel. The reason is, you start from the worse and go to the best, otherwise when you read the novel, you'll curse the licensing and hate the anime. The manga is slow, the anime has 3 seasons and the novel is quite far. It's actually in s3 of the anime, although the plot is slightly jumbled in the anime.
Lastly, the light novel is licensed by seven seas publishing (http://www.mangaupdates.com/publishers.html?id=231). The series was going to be released this year (vol 1 in september) but i believe seven seas hit a rough patch. They have already translated the series and merely need to go into production, but for one reason or another (i think they are financially unstable atm, so they are trimming fat and getting rid of a lot) so the series isn't being released this year (or at all, who knows). You can go on the forums at their website to find out more

Awe thanks for the clarification. I'll do just that! Probably this is the only novel that I'll have ever bought for this reason. I don't know why but it's time to play it legit.
