In Korea,

The typical action manhwa/manga or shoujo Japanese manga is about 7 1/2 inches (18 cm) by 5 inches (13 cm).

The typical soonjung (Korean shoujo) manhwa is 6 inches (15 cm) by 8 inches (20 cm).

Um...I live in America and so they are a little less than an inch a volume. Depends on what kind of book it is. But if it's monthly release magazines you're saying. it's about one to two inches.

someone correct me if I'm wrong.

wait! are you talking about book cover length or thickness?

Oh. Then Um.....let me go get my ruler.

Someone NOW can correct me if I'm wrong.

Sure. I took out a measuring tape myself. ^^

4X6? Sheesh, that's small...But, I think that was the regular size of the Tokyopop releases...

Berserk licensed trade paperbacks here (from Darkhorse) is about ~5 inches by 7 inches... as far as i can tell, there is just this one size out there.
The other manga I have is a manwha which is 5.2 * 8.6 inches (Cynical Orange) by Ice Kunion.

I see. I just noticed the Ranma 1/2 books (published/translated into Korean) are the size of regular Tokyopop releases of Sailormoon, etcetera in the States.

It all differs with the publishers.

i'm not sure if every publisher has their own size format, i've only bought two series from two seperate publishers, but i think for most series there will be one type of size/paper quality out (eg Berserk is only available in one size and quality, as is Cynical Orange...).

I think that in the US, it's 5x7. My friend gave me a book from France, and it was also that size.

In Poland: 12x17 cm ( about 4,7x6,7 in inches).
I used VP Miyu to measure.
