i dont think rosario + vampire have too much fan service the story is goot still after few chapters (episodes) so i dont agree in that point if you did only watch 1st r+v anime and didnt read the manga then do so.

and it doesnt mean that if some manga or anime have tons of boobs and pantie flashes its bad it depends how someone do it.

i personally like fan service and the only factor that makes animes and mangas unberable b of fs is that someone messed it up when making it

check the classic love hina theres plenty of fanservice (and i mean plenty) and almost all ppl that did watch it liked it (i personally did talk with only 2 dudes that didnt like it and their explanation why was so lame that i will leave it without comment ....)

junesue lol you have hard time them libing with somoene who hates M&A 🙂

generaly i dont care one way or another about fanservice, but when it is clearly a substitute for or erroding a plot to the point where it is almost unbearable to watch...I tend to stop watching the series

althou they are often one in the same fanservice is not always = to harem
love hina did have some fanservice but it was more of a harem type
do me a favor sit down with your family/friends and have them watch
itikkitousen
witchblade
negima?
rosario + vampire
Tenjho Tenge

a good way to gauge if something has too much fanservice is

  1. would i tell anyone i watch this?
  2. am i watching this as a substitute or prequil to porn?

and by the way the r+v manga has its moments
the first anime ep was horrid ...go to the r+v thread someone counted the panty/bust shots at over 25 or 30 for a 23 min show

remember kids most school uniform skirts are knee length by regulation
and that is like 35cm
not 10

yeah. sooner or later, skirts will be a thing of the past. elastic bands with no cloth ftw.

errr what wrong with softcore porn (hentai 😛 porn is for me lately too boring ) 😀

man the more ecchi the anime the better it is for me (oh well im just male )

i dont think there is anything wrong with h,porn, echhi, or fanservice
but trying to roll everything together into one show works almost the same as putting your breakfast, lunch, dinner, and drinks in a blender and thinking its going to tast/look great

if your in the mood for some tail watch h/porn
if your in the mood for entertainment watch shows with a hint of fanservice

fan service is awesome.....its when they think that fan service is showing female characters in undies or 1/2 nude or something like that sucks > 🙁

fanservice does not mean the same thing it used to
what it used to mean was giving into fan input and desires ranging from who a person would end up with...to possible character development and echhie shots
like the fanservice in ichigo 100% where they chose the girl he ended up with by a vote...that was more toward the original meaning

fanservice now for the most part means means pantyshots/ gratuitous sexual inuendo

short list of words that have changed

gay =/= happy anymore it means homosexual to most
voluptious used to mean curvy in a good way, but with the advent of online dating voluptious means discustingly fat
curvy*** see voluptious (means discustingly fat)

Hmm... The manga for Rosario + Vampire isn't riddled with fan service, so I guess it's just the anime, which causes a little confusion.

Air Gear seems to be pretty heavy on fan service, and that turned me off to the series. Negima has far too much fan service, especially since the female characters are about 13 years old. Obviously, fan service isn't bad in and of itself, but sometimes it approaches unappealing levels.

I personally don't like fanservice, especially hentai doujinshi, but i'm ok with like wallpapers and whatnot, only when they start making their own stories is when it starts annoying me, i really dunno why, but I can understand why people like that kind of stuff, mainly because i used to read genshiken religiously

I just hate fan service in mangas/animes which dont surround all of it.

Like, wouldnt you despise it while watching Claymore you suddenly saw Clare taking a bath and Raki spying on her? Those are the random moments that piss me off. ( that never happened tho, im just saying.)

In my opinion fan service is basically a tool that can be used in a constructive or destructive way. For the most part however, it just plain sucks. Nothing turns me off of a series more then watching god knows how many girls skirts get lifted, all I do is keep thinking to myself that the whole damn series is stupid. Even worse is in anime like r+v where the skirts as so bloody short I spend the ENTIRE time watching the show thinking t myself how retarded the uniforms have gotten. The only manga/ anime I think the fan service helps is/was Gantz. Basically its so over the top and serious I can't help but laugh about it.

Basically I feel fan service might once in a blue moon have its uses but most of the time it just ruins a manga or anime cause it takes my attention away from the plot, and directs it towards how retarded the series is.

It wouldn't be necessary if he was spying on her, but seeing her take a bath is always a nice fanservicey break from the action.

where the facts on this. from my understanding the majority of the target audience loves fan service and thats why its included. if a series overly portrays it and occurs very often it just means theres not much of a plot and theyre just trying the sell it based on T&A and sex appeal.

I don't care for fan service because I'm a girl. I don't get the least bit happy when I see a girl's panties or chest. I don't read manga for fan service; I read it for plot or art. Personally, I hate it when people use sex to sell products. Makes me angry and want to yell at some of the girls in commercials, "Don't you have a sense of pride?!"
