Help! Old man character?!

Hi!
I'm trying to track down an old man character that I'm pretty sure is from an anime. He looks a lot like Sotaro Komaki from Yakuza 0, but I believe he wears a purple vest/sodenashi/sleeveless hanten and straw sandals, and I think he's often shown walking hunched over with his hands behind his back. I believe he's known for being grumpy iirc :s I'm PRETTY sure he's from a popular anime, but probably not a recent one since I haven't watched many recent titles :s Any ideas or help would be appreciated!

Ooh, close! 😲 But not quite ^^; I believe the character I'm thinking of still has dark hair (like Komaki in Y0), and I'm pretty certain he wears tabi and straw sandals, not boots.

Again, it's an old man with:
-rat-like features (see Sotaro Komaki; it's almost his face precisely)
-a sodenashi (which is like a sleeveless hanten; I'm pretty sure it's purple/indigo)
-tabi and straw sandals (I think the outfit's based on Japanese woodcutters/craftsman)
I remember him being a rather stingy and grumpy character (which is why I'm pretty sure it's not Komaki). Then again, it's possible my memory just squished things together :s It just seems so vivid; I can picture the 2d line art and everything :s
