Oh yeah!! Hell was I waiting for something like a spin off. I literally jumped of the sofa when I got that notification from webtoons.com .
One of my fav webtoons ever.

edit: Oh it is an OVA, and how come I never knew there was an OVA in nov 28 2015? like wtf 🙄

That OVA is different. deals with the incident which forced Rai into 820 years long hibernation. It was released at the end of December. It's released as "Noblesse: The Beginning of Destruction".

Hah.........actually, the spinoff irritates me more than anything given that it comes directly in the wake of them officially trash-canning Ability.
To think the creative team behind all this would drop an existing story citing poor health and "we just can't do it" to then go and start a new one.......yeah, that really doesn't speak well, in particular to the fans of the one that got dumped without even a cursory attempt at bringing to at least some kind of ending.

The spin-off is only 10 chapters long. Plus authors started working on it around a year ago.

Yeah, seriously, none of that really makes me feel any better about them abandoning Ability outright though.
A year ago they couldn't seem to do absolutely anything for Ability (or Noblesse either for that matter......that would be smack in the middle of six month long hiatus on that series as well), and "only" 10 chapters (be it then or now) might well have gone quite a ways to fashioning at least some kind of ending for a series already 60 chapters in with an established, waiting on a promised return, fan base.
Sorry, this just hasn't been handled well as far as I'm concerned.

Yup! I did and it was dang good....a bit short and fast paced to my liking but a pretty god job overall.
