I am thinking about buying the series but I'm not really sure which one to buy. I found two DVD box sets of the full anime but since both are pretty pricey for me, $90+ I thought I'd get some advice from the people who know more about this then I do.

buy platinum. it has comentery ANGEL EVA guides as well as pre final reels (in other words its the episode but no sound and colour) the dvd guides should also have a glossory on the NGE series. the perfect collection is episodes only no add ons.
ps i bought the platinum edition when they were still single disk so there might be some changes

I was leaning more towards platinum since it is the cheapest of the two but it doesn't hurt to get some input about them both. Now is the whole series worth the buy? I never had the chance to watch it but all I've been hearing about is good things. Also the movies, how many are there or how many in total will there be?
