I don't really get the feeling it's close to the end. However, I do remember Kishi stating in volume 47 (I think) that the plot development to the finale is all figured out. Personally, I would like another time skip so we get to see the characters a little more grown up

Actually if you think about it he is pretty close to becoming Hokage. He has surpassed his father and Jiraya who both are hokage level. He learned how to control and use sage jutsu perfectly. As of now he is the strongest in Konoha. After Kakashi Naruto is the most likely candidate for hokage. Only thing he lacks is age but it seem like Tsunade is determined to help him to become hokage.

Lol Detective Conan is over 700 chapters... and seeing, how the author can get away with introducing his parents by making them appear within his body... he can probably get away with placing Naruto's whole family tree in there, lol. 🤣

Volume 47? Wow. Anyway, they're not going to end it while it's still popular enough to sell and market well. Even if further development is required (which usually isn't heeded anyway), they'll just make new enemies and skull-drag it across the pavement.

same goes to me it pain in the hell this last 10 years wit em over plotted manga can be a good thing but once it get over 300 chapter you gonna ask yourself when is this shit gonna end i pretty much can guess the end huh wait deja vu.......

Yes... However, they won't make him hokage for minor reasons, I bet. (like being imature or something). Don't forget someone new can show up and take the position of hokage... Not to mention, he has to beat sasuke before he can become hokage.

At the moment I wan't him to just die... And leave himself a name. 🤣

This has nothing to do with the discussion above, but since the topic is about the possible near ending, there is something that has always bothered me, and i just remembered reading the very first chapters.

In the first chapters Naruto steals a so-called "forbidden/sealed scroll" with, supposely many powerful techniques and whatnot, it's from there that Naruto got his signature ninjutsu, the shadow clones. Now then, what in the world happened with the famous scroll? It's never mentioned in the story again. And how come Tsunade never let Naruto borrow it when he was traning to get the wind rasengan? I mean, with 200 clones it would've been easy to learn 30 or 50 ninjutsu in a week or so.

Did the author just forgot of the very first plot-object he dropped for the series, or somewhere along the story something happenened to the scroll and i just forgot? 😕

that scroll was used in one of the fillers for the anime... i dont remember if something happened to it ... but as it is "forbidden" they arent supposed to use the jutsus there so... thats pretty much the reason he isnt using it as they are the "good" guys they arent supposed to be using forbidden jutsus to fight btu then again... he may use it sometime when he runs out of "skills" for his chars or bad guys 😀

So they actually prefered their "ethics" a.k.a. have the Village Destroyed than explore the posibility of having been able to beat Pain with the so called "forbidden techniques". And if they are forbidden, aren't they suppose to forbid Naruto from using the clones?.

Meh, maybe that scroll was actually just the pilot.

the pilot was diferent... it was about a ninja going to a town... i forgot about it tho.
and well... they forbid people to learn the stuff in it. And naruto learned just the 1st skill which by his luck was the one he lacked the most.

And about leeting their town be destroyed... 😀 they didnt knew wut pain was going to do till too late plus you know good guys never cheat lol. Its just a kid reason to be good i bet kishi didnt plan far when he made that scroll. he just wanted to solve one of naruto's short commings and make him a lil stronger.

To the other guys... this manga is no where near the end. Well he can end it with just a chapter if he wants but ... to complete the current flashback and get naruto to fight sasuke he needs at least 2 more Vols... the naruto/sasuke fight needs at least 1 vol and the plot after the fight 1 more vol... the next part where the fight with lil cute madara comes needs5 more vols if he doesnt get the 9 tails we may reach the end then if he doesnt bring a new bad guy that helped madara stay alive for that long.

oh! and that is if kabuto doesnt join the fight. I may be missing few parts tho.

If im right we may have to wait at least 8/9 more vols to see a non rushed end.

Lol i just got a new twist in my mind 😀 wut if he sudenly starts a new 3 year skip after this? lol like naruto learning to use the 9tails / getting a gf and waiting for some cute things to happen? 😛 well i believe dragonball had it 3 times and naruto so far only have 2.

Sure they didn't know, but c'mon, the piles of "akatsuki wanna destroy the ninja world" and whatnot, why not explore that zomg-powerful-ass-scroll, sure not Naruto, maybe Jiraya, before going to fight alone. Meh, in the end everything reduces to Kishi forgot that object, or just was not meant to be played as part of the plot, reducing Naruto's signature technique's origin to pure bullshit.
Well, i just wanted to know if the scroll was ever burned or something and i didn't read, cause after chapter 1, it was never mentioned again.

ye i think its about to end too the previous chapters are really fast pace on story telling like on chapter 503 the fight between the 4th hokage and Madara is so fast (but i think the anime will give filler fight scenes on that anyway)
