Hello everyone out there manga fans...i need some of your advice...i'm deciding to buy a tablet so that i can read manga while on the go but the problem is that i don't know the screen size which would best fit the images from the manga. everyone's opinion will be a great help for me to decide. thank you in advance!! 🙂

the bigger the better, and I suppose you can still adjust the pages' size if your tablet was too small/big

I have an Acer Iconia A500, it's 10 inches of screen, and works perfectly in portrait mode for reading manga.

I have 20/20 vision though, so if you don't...

I can read manga perfectly fine on an iPod ^^
So any size of tablet should work.
Hmm, but it depends...how are you planning to read the manga? Like online, or with an app or something?

both apps and online....because i have a files of some manga that i wish to read again...

Well... from my experience, if you're using apps, there's no need to worry. They format the manga pages to fit the size of the screen.

As for online, I'm not so sure, but I think 7.0 inches should work.

I read on 7" and I wouldn't recommend anything less than that. I have to zoom on mine fairly often even when reading English scanlations. OTOH, 10" is kinda too big for light bed time reading.

Well, you can really read on the screen of any size if your viewer supports zooming and dragging (Perfect Viewer on Android is very good), but you really don't want to zoom since it's too much effort.

Depends on a few things.

Firstly, what's your definition of "on the go"?? Do you mean while on the move, sitting in a train or bus, or just somewhere away from home in general?

Secondly, what else do you plan to do with this tablet? Getting one just to read manga is a bit of a waste, regardless of how wealthy you are.

All thing's considered, you basically have 2 main platforms in the tablet market; Google's Android and Apple's iOS/iPad.

All Android devices that aren't branded "Nexus" suck balls. They're usually skinned with hideous bloat from the OEMs (Samsung being the biggest culprit). Forget all those useless Galaxy Tabs. The Google/Asus Nexus 7 is your only choice when it comes to getting the pure Android experience on a tablet, and is probably your best option right now. Great device, imho. They don't compare. Reading manga won't be a problem with many decent reader apps in the Google Play market. As the name implies, It's 7", so it's quite a bit easier to carry compared to an iPad. Only downside is it's lack of SD card slots (though 16GB internal memory is plenty for manga) and lack of cellular connectivity since it's wifi only, though you could always tether to your phone. There's a rumored 3G model in the works, but it's unconfirmed. It's only available in certain markets, but importing is easy enough if you're serious.

The iPad is obviously the tablet standard at the moment. It's got the most extensive ecosystem in Apples App Store, and is generally well regarded. It's also great for stuff like content creation (audio/art). Problem is the price. The cheapest iPad is more then 2x the price of a Nexus 7. There's also the issue of size. 10" can be great for drawing or content creation, but it's just too bulky to hold in one hand the way you would a book, manga or 7" tablet.

There are also other alternatives like RiM's Blackberry Playbook and Amazon's Kindle (both 7"). I can't really comment on them since I don't have experience with either of their ecosystems.
