I'm going to purchase a game, but I can't decide which. I want a Crysis type-war game, with Prototype-like powers(or similar), and a good, if not very good, story. Suggestions?

EDIT: It should have some Strategy too.

Pretty sure this is the wrong topic forum but I'll answer anyway:

Which system? PC, PS3, 360, Wii?

Dragon Age: Origins would be your best bet. The latest edition includes all the downloadable content and is very tailored to your style of gaming. Look for Dragon Age: Origins Ultimate Edition.

Another game series would be Mass Effect. What is nice about this game is you play Mass Effect 1, you can roll your character over to Mass Effect 2. Mass Effect 3 will be released sometime this holiday season and is the final installment of the series. Very good game as well.

Then of course there is Half-Life 2 and its spin off Portal 2 which will be released in May.

Literally 8 out of the 10 PC games available on the market score an 8 (out of 10) or above simply because PC games have to compete with the console market, and many PC games are being ported to console, which IMHO is in injustice to the game. But that's how makers make money.

Thanks, but I don't like either Dragon Age (I read the novels published for it, and the story was destroyed for me) or Mass Effect (I don't know why 😛 ). Any other suggestions?

You do realize that the Dragon Age novels take place years before the storyline in the games? And saying you don't know why you won't play Mass Effect is detrimental to you.

I want to play Mass Effect, but not right now. I can choose only one game, and Mass Effect is not it.
The novels do take place years before, true. I don't know whay I can't stand the idea of the betrayal of the King's friend 🤢
EDIT: Basically, I want a game with a darker feel, like Crysis or Prototype.
EDIT 2: Also, to me. Dragons are the best fantastical species, and I don't like the fact that Dragon Age portrays them as evil.

I second the suggestion of Dragon Age Origins. I played it and loved it. You can make a lot of choices and change the flow of the story. Just be sure not to miss out on any of the characters for your group.

The same people who made Dragon Age also made Mass Effect btw.

Haven't played it yet, but its been getting good reviews. Many said the first one was better overall but the sequel still has its charm. Not a bad choice.

I'll see what games are available, then decide. Thanks, guys.

EDIT:
The shopkeeper didn't have any good games 🤢
No Homefront, Mass Effect 2, or Dragon Age 2. I'm waiting for Crysis 2 now.

Quote from Casey D. Geek

How is Crysis 2?

Story is captivating. Shooting is pretty good. Multiplayer is fun. If you've played 1, you'll like 2
