I checked the etymology of my name a few years ago and either it comes from the ancient Germanic name "Athalhaid" (I don't see how though) or from the Greek Αλική (sea creature); curiously enough I have a Germanic last name and on the other side both my grandparents from my father's side had names related to the sea (this must be fate 🤣 )
Later Alice became famous in 19th century thanks to Lewis Carroll's book. It's not a rare name in my country and that's just the standard way it's pronounced in my mother language

My name is Siti, a very common name where I come from, so I hate it. 😛 But thanks to its commonness there's no way people would misprononounce or mistype it.
