When I read a light novel called I Fell in Love With A Soapland Girl!, it reminds me of a manga that I forgot reading along time ago. It as about a blue-collar worker loser who is living with his parents, I think. His mother is promising to treat him to a birthday party. He often goes to a soapland ith his meager income he's saved for that purpose. But when he is introduced by his friend to a new virtual reality program, he gets to experience a girl that seemed so real to him. He was amazed by the sensation of feeling a virtual reality girl's body. In his friend's apartment, he notices two sofa couches. He changes his mind and tries the virtual reality experience. But as it fails and the girl rejects his advances, he complains "I saved my money for soapland and wasted it on this computer simulated fantasy that doesn't work?"

But as he calms down, he offers the girl his friendship.

I describe the man as fat, burly, probably middle-aged, maybe bald and with eyeglasses.
