The show leaves a lot of questions unanswered.
Like what happened to that young detective. Looks like he went mad or something....writing equations like the old man from the beginning.

Ah, Chrno Crusade...Yup, the manga and anime ending was very sad. Don't wanna spoil it for the rest of you though~
(Btw, I just proofread chapter 51 of Chrno Crusade today. Now if the editor could start EDITING so that we could release something...)

- SaiKano. When I was reading this I had to take a break every few pages to go for a walk and clear my head.
- Ai Ren. Likewise.
I tend to read my manga digitally at work and have been known to break down crying whilst doing so. In front of my co-workers!
And to the poster who reckons there's no emotion in manga, read either of the above and then tell us that! - The ending of I's, almost!

Quote from GGpX
If you want depressing, watch anime.
Manga will have a hard time getting you depressed, because there isn't any atmosphere.
That being said, watch Saikano. Episode 9...... Runner up: Grave of the Fireflies
Saikano #9 is even more depressing than GotF ??
Damn, I gotta see that then
If you're old enough....

Notice that it's way easier to name a depressing anime rather than a depressing manga.
Hotaru no Haka made me cry like a child. Tears, unstoppable tears. I was around sixteen then.

Saikano and every other ones about love and hardship just don't effect me at all...
What's truly depressing is REC, yes read correct, REC !!!
ch24 is the turning point that's stabs every Aka fan right in the heart ... Seeing my favorite cutie admitting defeat and be a self proclaimed sacrificial lamb
to a rapist truly makes me want to strangle her...
I'm very sad indeed and will never look at Aka in the way as I did before...

?? nothing happened in that chp though...
while its true she didnt struggle, i think its more from pity or a feeling of debt from her and anyway nothing happened in the end

she didnt struggle
No, no... I'm a big fan of Aka, seeing my idol is someone who doesn't even put up a fight in tough situations like that and then even willingly give herself away just like that saddens me greatly ... Her perfect image is destroyed in my mind forever, NOOOO!!!

im just gonna put this in spoilers since some of the REC story and what happens is a part of the post, just incase someone doesnt want to know...
i get what youre trying to say but after she stopped struggling, he stopped to so nothing ever happened between them(thank god hes a good guy)
i get the fact that she stopped was what was bothering you(i know it pissed me off too) but like he said, the whole time she was thinking only of matsumaru and that he would save her and she just pitied him so she wasnt trying to betray anyone
i think he understood this and thats why he stopped if she really was weak and had given up he would have continued but like i said, thank god hes a good guy lol
