So tonight I went the bookstore to buy the newest Genshiken vol, and when i checked out at the register the sales guy was like, "wow i've been meaning to start reading theses mon-gai's(as he pronounced it) b/c im getting tired of science fiction." After i told him not to start with genshiken, he said something about GITS so i told him about shirows other stuff and left.

what would u have recommended?

I would have recommended that he GTFO and STFU.

Then I would have given him the One Piece.

Hmm, he seems to already like science fiction, so Ghost in the Shell is a great thing for him to watch (maybe not the manga as much though...) Full Metal Alchemist would also work for him probably. He might like mecha, so recommend Gundam (I prefer Gundam SEED, but you can tell him what you like).

And I'll assume he can take his violence, so the usual like Gantz, Claymore, and Berserk.

As for Genshiken, yeah, do not scare him with that right in the beginning.

yea my thoughts initially too. but you know i just thought about it some more and pretty much most of the plot outside of relationships is about

buying doujins, making doujins, doujin pc games, and cosplay but still i loved it
