So u had a bad day. Ur boss yells at u and u got caught in a freakin traffic jam. Or whatever. Does this give u the right to complain and act all hurt at all the people around u? Or do u act like an adult and suck it in? Ur thoughts appreciated.

i say just suck it up and be an adult. if you're going to always whine about that kind of stuff, you'll be doing that for a long time. life's never perfect, yknow?

but if you were pmsing, then yeah. you can be a bitch. pms entitles you to that. hahaha

Why even bother thinking about it? Stuff like that happens...no need to become depressed. Just take it easy.

A little venting is fine, sometimes a bad mood is hard to crawl out of. But dont let it carry on too long

No, you can't. But a little venting now and then is good.

BITCH = Beautiful.Intelligent.Talented.Cute.Hot
If you meet the criteria, you're entitled (this luxury only applies to women, though)

Hmm... maybe I should dress in drag more often. XD

Seriously,
It's alright to vent, just don't make yourself sound whiney about it. Break a pencil or two and then go get drunk after work.

People need to vent. I do it on bad days.

As long as the people women like me are complaining to get the right to tell us to "stuff it" or "get lost," then I believe it's fair game.

No, I don't vent.
People can't help me more
than I can. My fault for getting
into such jams where everybody
thinks others should take the public
transit.

When something like that happens to me, I usually try my hardest not to lash out at anyone. In the event I do, I apologize immediately. (When I realize that it's the bad mood that is making me irritable, and that it actually isn't the person's fault.)

I just don't think it's fair to others.

Just act bitchy 24/7. That way, it wouldn't seem that you're venting out on someone and they wouldn't get hurt. O_O

But I think it's okay, just don't go overboard.

Quote from Binturong

There is a(n often subtle) difference in bitching at people and taking it out on people. The first is somewhat OK depending on the people you talk to, how well they know you, and whether or not they are in the state of mind to listen and help you. Taking it out on people is not acceptable.

Sadly, even though you do the former, there are people who will presume that you're doing the latter, and they'll get mad at you without understanding that wasn't what you intended. At that point it spirals.

If you want to avoid the spiral, you don't bitch. If you bitch, then be very careful of who, how, and when, or expect to get bitched back to if someone misinterprets your motives/intentions.

P.S. PMS is an excuse, not an entitlement. I grant that PMS for some women is exceptionally bad, but for most it is manageable. However, it still doesn't excuse you to take it out on people.
