Confused about the licensed numbering

Sorry if this question was asked before, I think I have the general idea but I just want to clarify:
Yu-Gi-Oh original series (without spinoffs and sequels) should have in total 38 volumes. I'm going to assume Viz licensed and released all 38 volumes, but sectioned them into 3 parts: Yu-Gi-Oh, Duelist, then Millenium.
So if I want to purchase all of the original series, I should be buying vol 1-7 of Yu-Gi-Oh, 8-31 of Duelist, and 32-38 of Millenium, correct? In doing so, I'll have the whole entire original series right? (I'm not looking at buying the sequels or spinoffs, I just want to know what I should be purchasing to get all of the original manga--which I assume is in total 38 volumes).
If anybody could helping clarifying whether I am right or wrong that would be great 😢
