A hero can't trust a good thing

They say that if something seems too good to be true, it probably is. There have always been stories of people who bought into something that was too perfect and suited to their wishes, only to find out that the truth is incredibly painful.
I'm looking for something that's the total opposite. The hero's situation really is that awesome. The girl clinging to his arm really is as incredible as she seems and does love him that much. The parallel world's awesome nature doesn't come with any catches, and his newfound powers don't come with any bad catches. The situation seems too good to be true, but it's all true. The problem is that the DOESN'T trust it. He's always doubting the girl's motives, words and feelings. He's constantly on the lookout for the catch that makes this perfect world he's in into a living hell. He's constantly prepared to take action once he finds out just what the catch is. And he comes very close to ruining things with his doubts, almost destroying the great things he has with his inability to take a chance and have a little faith.
I can't think of any examples of this sadly, so I'm eager to see what's out there.

Overlord. The main hero keeps expecting the other shoe to drop but it doesn't happen for a long time.

Wo Jia Dashi Xiong Naozi You Keng... Maybe... At least for as long as I've read he keeps expecting the worst. Plus, he's convinced he's NOT the main character of the story.
~4400 manga completed
~1700 ongoing...
