This new poll was suggested by our member veiven. Such a simple one! Just estimate how much time you spend on the computer on an average day.

You can discuss this poll on our forums here:

You can submit poll ideas here:

Previous Poll Results
Question: How long can you last without a computer?
Choices:
Less than a day - votes: 4693 (29.5%)
A few days - votes: 5820 (36.5%)
A week or two - votes: 2928 (18.4%)
A month - votes: 876 (5.5%)
A few months - votes: 653 (4.1%)
A year - votes: 72 (0.5%)
Years - votes: 165 (1%)
Forever - votes: 721 (4.5%)
There were 15928 total votes.
The poll ended: May 29th 2010

Looking at this, technology has definitely changed our lives to rely on it more and more
For those of you that chose "Years" or "Forever", I wonder how many were true answers. Perhaps we should do a social experiment?

5-10 hours. Only because of school. Days I'm 100% free... I can go for more than 12 hours. >__>;

16-24 I use a computer at work, as well bringing my own laptop with me. Then there is my PC at home... 😮

10-16 hours. The only things keeping me from the 16-24 hours category are a combination of having a commute and trying to get a decent amount of sleep. Besides that, I'm at a computer most of the time for work and a majority of the time at home.

Well I don't know my computer average but television and computer altogether 1 hour a day plus one day each month on which i'm basically sitting in front of either the whole day.
(That's the rule I made for myself so I doesn't get out of hand)
But seriously 10-16 hours?
I'd probably go mad xP

I said 5-10, but I also use my computer for work, so it's probably closer to 10-16. These days, it's hard to escape computers, because so many people have to use them for work and for pleasure. When I'm tired of organizing data at work, I come home and read manga. The strain on my eyes must be amazing...

The people who chose "Years" and "Forever" are definitely liars; they just used the computer by voting XD

Not liars, no one needs a computer to live. How did people survive before computers were invented? There's a big difference between how long you would like to go without a computer and how long you could physically survive without one.

I don't think I can last. I'm an online student and I'm freelancing in designing books (typesetting the inside) I can't work without my computer and I need the internet to communicate with and send my files to the people I work with.

That said, I also don't have cable television and sometimes the signal is not good enough for my rabbit ears on my tv to pick up. So for any news (like Israel being a bully again) I gotta read it online.

It's sad to say but in this day and age we need the computer in order to work, do the work assigned to us, and communicate with the outside world and our loved ones. We can't really take breaks anymore unless we plan on living off the grid.

I ignore certain websites for a while and quit them...but the computer and internet itself? No way. I can max a week before being driven insane by lack of not knowing what is going on in the world and playing games and reading.
