Geekness and other lifestyles?

around my friends i have noticed a number of things.
-
geekness and musical talent.
around my friends i have noticed only the geekiest have any musical talent, two growl in separate bands, one of these play guitar as well, and one play only guitar.
among other friends, no one plays any instrument. -
Geekness and art.
the only artists i know are geeks. one surrealist, one classicist, and two standard wannabe comicbookartists (me included 🙂 ) -
Geekness and martial arts.
i know one boxer, one who do kung fu and judo, and i myself practice karate.
other than that, i don't really know that many who try to learn any kind of more advanced asss-kicking. -
Geekness and politics.
Only geeks really care about any political cause in my circle of friends. -
Geekness and crime.
the only kriminals i know are geeks.
not to worry, none of them have as far as i know done anything wrong... -
Geekness and philosophy.
you know the drill by now, don't you?
...so, is this things commonly associated with geekness, can any of you relate?

Non of those actually...
The people I know who are good in art/music are most very social people.
There are some geeks among them, but that's not something I'd associate.
Hrodulf and Bjornolfr, you will not be forgotten.

you would be my rainbow in shades of grey.[/color]
If I had a fantasy self, it'd be a tentacle monster.
geek&boxe / geek&criminal ? WTF happened to the world? 😲
Besides, i think a "geek" has a lot more time to invest in cultural areas than the average "yo, wanna come to play a match of soccer?" guy. Its just redefining your priorities, i think.

That's known as a "coin".
Oh, thanks. Too much D&D.

uhm geek+boxe=not geek, as far as my knowledge on "a geek" goes.

that's right! 😃
does that mean I'm a geek because I have musical talent and can play a couple of instruments? 😐
I have a couple friends that all have those interest except "geekness and crime" < WTH?!

i am not making accusations, i'm just pondering some of the things i have experienced in people around me.
i just feel that geeks in general (among the people i know) have stronger morals and less respect for laws is all...

Certain groups of geeks may tend to be more independent thinkers, rather than following the popular trends, methinks.... 😃

hmm...you're generalizing STOP GENERALIZING
My friend said that to me. He's an artist (a geek according to you) and political guy that wants to learn martial arts if he's not lazy 😀
But aside from most people, I know some non-geeks that fit into some of those categories (like music, art, martial arts).

I didn't mean to generalize, honestly...
I was just kinda curious i guess...
actually, i'm not sure why i started the thread, really, it was a spurr of the moment thing...
also, i did not say all artists were geeks, just that i experienced that the only artists i knew were geeks...
