i always wondered about some about ichigo and kaien

is ichigo a reincarnation of kaien? i mean i c some possibilities, though kaien isnt really a significant character to be a reincarnation image for ichigo considering he wasnt that strong, although he is a important character... and secondly, if ichigo resembled kaien that much, though i literally thought kaien was someone related to ichigo directly only for the first few pages of the flashback... but why didnt rukia, byakuya, shiba family, or any other shinigamis show any reactions to ichigo's facial appearance, considering he has kaien's face just with different hair color and eye color... or is it simply because the author just made that up during the 3 year trip in writing the soul society arc?

Huh? Some did had reaction towards his appearance. Don't forget, Kaien died ages ago - some of the characters weren't even in the gotei 13 back then.

well with ichigo's dad used to have been a shinigami, couldn't it have been possible his dad and kaien were somewhat related.

the manga said all the towns people in soul society were just random people who lived together until reincarntion, but im not entirely sure how family works for the shinigami themselves. soi fon's lieutenent says something about being fat because his whole family is, and theres the whole thing about rukia being adopted into the kukichi family because her "sister" married into it.

i dont think that ichigo is reincarnation of kaien, because in the arc where their going to save orihime, rukia fight kaien, (if im not mistaken)

ok fine than... knowing the story so far along with the pendulum.... we defenetely know byakuya, the shiba family, and rukia would have shown some reaction... i mean though its been ages... rukia regconized the face of kaien that arrancer was impersonating.... though i do admit , the white haired guy from the 13th? the one rukia is in... at least he showed some reaction, but that was way late in the story..... at the very least why didnt ganju or shukaku show any reaction, i mean its their brother, i mean considering it was their brother they might be more regconizing more but most people would show alittle shakened reaction if it was close enough...

well if you look closly even hisagi (guy with face tattoos) looks a lott like icigo so the simularity to kaien is probbely just the uncreativity of the artist.

Kensei looks like Ichigo too, Rose looks like Shunsui, and Rangiku looks like Xena-Fraccion and there are many more...

no, not really... they look similar to the READER'S eyes.... the artist obviously just drew kaien with different hair/eye color to show some impression of ichigo... but fine i understand now... he just looks similar, considering everybody knows kaien died in the soul society, i guess it wouldnt be too surprising to see someone with similar face to kaien to walk around...

well i personally think ichigo is a very unique looking character, the way they draw the nose and the chin.... the fact kaien is also a spite image of him,, shows the relativity in the faces between them... nobody follows? 😕

I agree with Ichigo being related to Kaien, Tite Kubo made them look to similar for it to be a coincidence. Plus it would be more interesting that way. 😀

well byakuya DID have some reaction, and the white haired sick Captain too. Maybe even the Supreme Captain (in short, the old man), but its a blurry memory.

While i think that a manga artist, at a certain point, doesnt have anymore "character faces" to draw, its still quite far fetched to me saying that the resemblance to Kaien is just a coincidence.

You didn't mess up... not really. The Espada ate the hollow which (whom?) fused with Kaien and absorbed its ability and memory. Kaien pretty much died but an exact replica of his memories and ability (plus that of the hollow that consumed him and the Espada that ate them both).

Back on topic... I'm passing it off as a way to connect Rukia and Ichigo. This could explain why she got herself hurt in the beginning and why she, initially, was so attached to Ichigo. It's a weak technique, I'm sure I've seen it before... The main protagonist has some glaringly obvious similarities to one of the love interest's previous love interests (see Final Fantasy VII on the PS Cloud and Zack look almost identical exept the hair and eyes).

Can you imagine an imaginary menagerie manager imagining managing an imaginary menagerie?
