...
you know, just because somebody has the same taste as you, doesn't mean s/he has taste
it would be disregarding to those who don't like mentioned games
oh, but I like Legend of Dragoon so I don't feel disregarded 🤣
thread: since the thread is named 'favorite RPG' that means I have to pick only one, huh..
I choose Suikoden V
but here's my best 10:
1)Suikoden V
2)FF 7
3)Suikoden II
4)KOTOR II
5)KOTOR
6)Persona 4
7)Tales of Abyss
8)Oblivion
9)FF 8
10)Fable

I'm honestly of the opinion that it's impossible for a generation spanning RPG player to have a true favorite that's not influenced by nostalgia, current interests/obsessions, or otherwise - myself included.
I will, however, take this time to mention how underrated the 'Star Ocean' series is as far as gameplay goes. Star Ocean: Till the End of Time? Yeah, easily exploitable, but truth be told, it was fun. IT WAS FUN, and I've consistently thought this.
No, no. SO:TTEOT isn't my "favorite" RPG; I'm just giving a shout-out to "David" in a crowd of "Goliaths".
[extremely late edit]
Persona 3 would be 300% better if the North American/European box-art was as awesome as the original Japaneses packaging. This might be the only time I seriously contemplated purchasing an import.

Ahh so many! favorite is lufia II. but dragon quest V, breath of fire II, final fantasy X, suikoden II deserve mentioning among others, but I'll keep it short.

VERY close tie between Valkyrie Profile and Persona 3/4.
VP comes ahead just because of the depth of the post-endgame. Gabriel Celeste + Ethereal Queen 10 times ain't no joke, though you can one-round Celeste starting at about the 4-5 time.

The Witcher 2.
Definitely the best RPG I ever played.
Dragon Age Origins in a close second and The Witcher 1 in third.
