I'd say Suikoden 2, due to the number of times I've played it. It's fun to play every year or so, and I've had it for years.

Vagrant Story hands down.

same here but i'm torn between that and Breath of Fire 3, those two were my starters and pretty much left the biggest impression on me. i still don't think there are any rpgs that live up to them, but there probably are some out there. i guess it's as the saying goes, your first is always the greatest. 😛 🤣
