Gangsta. Action Manga Gets Anime

The wrap-around jacket band on the sixth compiled volume of Kohske's Gangsta. manga is announcing on Wednesday that an anime adaptation has been green-lit. The wrap-around jacket does not specify what type of anime it will be. The band also lists that the cast from the manga's drama CD will be returning, with Junichi Suwabe as Worick Arcangelo, Kenjiro Tsuda as Nicolas Brown, and Mamiko Noto as Alex Benedetto.
The manga revolves around Nick and Worick, two men who take on jobs from both the mafia and the police in the town of Ergastulum, a rotten town filled with mafia, hoodlums, prostitutes, and dirty cops.
Kohske launched the original manga in Shinchosha's Comic @ Bunch magazine in 2010.Viz has licensed the series for North American release, and will ship the third compiled volume in English on August 19.
Update: The anime announcement did not specify that the adaptation would be a television anime.
