Hey yaoi fans, I was wondering how many of you tried gay tv series or soap opera with gay characters?

I never liked american soap opera or tv series about drama and crap, but I liked this German one with two character called Ollie and Christian

and this one from Spain about Max & Iago

And Max & Enric

I was wondering if you guys know other ones, oh, I know about noah and luke from ATWT, but frankly it's wayyy too soap opera and unrealistic even for soap opera...... 🤣

I'm not sure where to put this topic, it's not exactly PG so can't go into chatter box and it's not yaoi so not in that section either.

I was originally going to have it in the chatter box, but SOME very homophobic people will just delete it because it's "inappropriate" 🙄

The best one I watched is Six Feet Under. Actually many TV shows have gay characters. Do you only want main characters being gay?

I was just wondering what you guys like. I mean I prefer European soap opera, main character or not doesn't really matter, I usually just skip over the straight couples anyway. 🤣

But I prefer European because they are A LOT more open so their shows are better. Lol I just haven't seen one made in the US that I liked,

It is now 2011 and there are very many gay tv shows than ever before. I realized people do not know what is actually available. Watch gay movies and gay tv shows at http://gaypreviews.blogspot.com

May I suggest Oz. Many openly gay characters and relationships and as long as you don't mind violence to (for tv) an extreme, rape, criminals, a prison setting, kinda unrealistic stories and just general immoral living it's a good show. HBO's first big drama series it laid the way for the unbelievable epicness that is The Wire.

Glee? Lol.

I actually liked Glee before they started focusing SOO much on Kurt that it's just uncomfortable. I don't like the fact that they portray Kurt in such a homosexual stereotype. That guy is the most flamboyant person I have ever seen. I mean dancing in tights to single ladies is one thing, wearing stylish clothing and singing is another, but his room and his attempt at Finn is actually kind of uncomfortable. I don't know about you guys but Glee kind of sucks after a couple of episodes.

No offense, Tjuren, I just hate Glee with a passion. 🤣

Well if you've seen Oz then I recommend The Wire. Omar being one of the most popular and awesome characters of the show and also gay. Although his sexuality doesn't play a huge part in the show. There is also Kima who is gay too (female though so Lesbian). Then again if you've watched Oz you've probably seen The Wire...

nah, I heard of wire but never seen it. Thanks for the suggestion. I think the only gay american TV show I saw was OZ and As the World Turns with Noah and Luke. I stopped watching American TV show with gay character because all these american conservatives are pressuring TV shows to limit their content, unlike European shows.

OZ is an exception because it was on cable and they were brave in their tactics.

BTW, As the World Turns is an american TV soap opera and it sucks ass. I'm sorry to the fans but I really find it too ....soapy.....and fake. There's fiction that tried to be real and there's fiction that is faker than fiction. Sorry. oh wait, I already said this in the first comment. Lol, this goes to show my conviction.

I can't believe it. You guys actually missed Queer as Folk? For shame. This is the worst oversight in the history of like forever.

Yeah...I saw some, but I tend to avoid US made soap shows....too soapy...lol....

BUT I did see the UK version of Queer as Folks and I like that one.

I also as Skin, another UK show. I really like Maxxie...but he never got together with his best friend, whose straight but offers occasional blow jobs to comfort him during time of distress....i know right? lol wtf? what kind of a straight friend does that....

Here's them in the day time

I've seen a few. It's not something I search out (I'm straight with an opened mind - a rare man indeed) but if it looks interesting why not? I have no problem with gay guys. (And I love lesbians.) (BTW, not a yaoi fan. But I've read it before.)

With that said, I haven't found any good ones. I love Torchwood, the Doctor Who spin-off with two of the main characters in a gay relationship. I'm a fan of True Blood, with their level of gayness. I'm a fan of Glee (but see below).

I've watched Dante's Cove, which is completely gay. The lesbian scenes kept me watching (I wish there were more.) Most of the male x male scenes (every fifteen minutes) weren't too explicit, but I did a bit of fast forwarding (I can only take so much). I'm not gonna try and watch the second season. The show wasn't about the magic, it wasn't about plot, and it wasn't about good acting - it was made for the sex, and because of that it's not something I can totally get into. If I'm going to step out of my comfort zone at least comfort me with a good plot, good acting, and a few more lesbian sex scenes. 😀

I love Glee, I used to like Kurt, but I don't like girlie gays too much (sorry) and that's all he is. GAY. There's nothing else to him. He doesn't want to be looked down on and hated but damn it, when all you are is gay how can the haters even try to stop hating?

Oz is an interesting show. I never got super into it but it was good. I didn't mind the gayness. It was totally understandable, really. (Well duh, it's prison.) I've seen Queer as Folk before. UK version was... different. The US version disturbed me.

I can't think of anymore right now, but yeah. There's a few I enjoy.
