Dearth of Yuri...

I find it curious how at times a yuri release will happen every other day and at other times (say, now) months can go by with only an occasional dismal offering. (only Sasameki Koto is really happening right now, and that is basically just playing catch-up... should have come out forever ago). Is this because there's just not many active scanlators? Or is quality yuri just not prevalent right now...

This can't be attributed to a single answer but it may be because of the surge of yuri manga being licensed. Most of the popular manga is now being sold in English by Jmanga so scantalations may be halted. But, there is ALWAYS new yuri being scanned, it's just a matter of seeing who gets to it first. This new interest in licensing yuri titles is actually a great development for the artists, they reach a wider audience while earning a proper profit. But sad news for us, who have to deal with not being spoiled.

If you want more yuri scanlated, go help the groups instead of whining here.
Hrodulf and Bjornolfr, you will not be forgotten.
