I know this was suggest 2 years ago, but it was shut down without much discussion. 2 posts and then a flat no without a reason given.

As this is primarily a manga author database, and manga authors are very likely to use pixiv (a Japanese artwork site), I would ask you to reconsider adding this. It is especially jarring that we have facebook over this. Twitter is popular there, but facebook is noticably much less so. I find it is much more likely that a Japanese manga artist would have pixiv compared to facebook, speaking from the many artists' sites I've been to.

I second this with my whole being. Most artists have pixiv accounts nowadays, it's rather slow of MU to not have updated this feature. It's especially annoying when some mods/admins keep deleting the pixiv links that were painstakingly added in mangakas' descriptions. Could somew reason be provided for this nonsensical action?

It's possible that it was done by other users, since the field can be modified by anyone with the "updater" status.
And yes, a pixiv field would definitely make more sense than Facebook.
