nothing loses my interest more than the generic nice guy protagonist you have in 99% of the harem mangas.
for comedy i like the protagonists in konosuba/GTO/grand blue
for a more serious note. i liked the protagonist in onani master kurosawa.
preferably male. no yaoi pls
