I'm writing an isekai, but I hate how most are written and want to be aware of as many tropes (an idea or concept shared between multiple different stories) so that I can create the world and story more intentionally, changing, removing or embracing the tropes as they're known to create what I want.

I am looking for tropes that I have not thought of—ones I have missed.

The ones I have come up with:
- Harem/mostly girls
- Main character rescues everyone/is the real hero
- Universal adventures guild
- Sex driven or eternal virgin protagonist
- Levels/leveling
- Dungeons
- Church/religion
- Demons as a sentient humanoid race
- Royal family group think/it's good or bad to be allied with them, never an in-between.
- Overpowered protagonist
- Pet/mascot

Those are what I have. If you can think of any more, please add them. The more I have, the better I can plan.

-Having "Convinence magic", powers that advantageous and helpful to the MC especially as the start of the story.

-Modern Technology
As the setting of isekai is usually medieval European. It's weird that MC is the "know it all being" thats knowledgeable of how technology works even if it's not their expertise. Ex. He is a farmer previously but also knows how to build infrastructures.

-The Isekai Truck/Death by overworked/Mistake by God

-Having all the supplies and necessities needed at the start point. And understanding all languages.

Additional Tropes

- MC is Gary Stu/Mary Sue
- black hair is special (or their appearance is special for some other reason)
- If in a novel/game
--- Changing the plot (ex: to avoid bad end, save their favorite character)
--- Character types by frequency (Villain/ess, Side/mob character, Protagonist)
- Main character is the Saint/ess (not all are initially recognized as such by the citizens of new world)
- Slave harem
- Obsession with food from original life
--- frequent comments on missing it
--- rice
--- After recreating the food everyone is obsessed with it (ex: finding rice, new dishes, chocolate, spices/seasonings)
- Almost exclusively only with male protagonist
--- Female Maid/Servant/Childhood friend who has erotic moments when MC is a young child
- abnormal behavior based on age of character
--- babies having physically impossible mobility
--- behaving way to young for their age (this applies to both the MC and the other characters around them)

One I have never seen add anything useful/relevant to the plot
--- Sexualizing breastfeeding if they start as a baby (mostly Male MC)

While some of that is already covered, a lot of it is definitely new and I am super happy you gave me such an extensive list. Thank you!

I also feel like I should say that, while not every trope will apply to my story, it is hopefully useful for anyone in the future who sees this and wants to see what tropes exist and think more deeply about what they want to do for their own stories based on what they see here.
