Hello everyone,

I'm new here. I'm not sure if this is the appropriate place to ask but since I don't know the way around the forum yet. I think Manga general is best suited for my questions 🙂
I want to know more about translator. In what format you guys send your job in?. at first I thought, you send it in completed in the speech bubble but after reading aznluck's thread, it doesn't seem so. So, yeah my question is as a translator, what is the format that you use when submitting your translation.

Is it like

Speech Bubble 1: Hey, Yui...
Speech Bubble 2: Happy New Year's Day everyone

Thanks in advance 🙂

Different translators use different formats. One common theme is that it's clear to a person who doesn't know any Japanese which specific spot on the page each of your translated lines goes to.

For examples of how translators format their text, you can see numerous public translations here: http://mangahelpers.com/translators/?lang=en

No, Translators are not editors (mostly), so they don't edit the pages. they just send the script in a MS Word or txt file.

and "cmertb" says :

They are generally are in formats like this:-

First format :- By Persons name

page- xx

Guy 1: hey how are you.
Guy 2 : fine, and you.

Second format :- By Bubble position

page-xx

From "Left to Right, Top to Down"

Bubble 1 : hey, how are you.
Bubble 2 : fine, and you.

Third format :- simple text with direction of manga reading

line 1 : hey, how are you.
line 2 : fine and you.
-------------------------------------

It all depends on the way translator want, but it should be in proper manner or order by which a typesetter can understand the format

Hope, this will help you.

😀
