Comment criteria?

Is there some kind of commenting criteria that you have to meet before making the first comment on a series? Twice now I've tried to comment on some oneshots that had no comments, thinking I'd be helpful for someone who might want to read them, and both times they've been removed. I've seen comments on other oneshots, some a lot shorter than my own comment, so I don't understand what I've been doing wrong.

I would also like to know what your comment said.
There are no things as special crieteria for the first comment.
You are free to commet on any series and the rules are same whether the comment is first or last.
The sentence should have enough length to form any sensible meaning and also no excessive use of foul language. If you post a spoiler, staff usually put them in spoiler tag.

Without knowing what your comment said, I will not be able to know why your comment was deleted

The one was about this oneshot- it said something along the lines of
"The description was dead-on. The only thing missing was "As you wish". Like most of Nishida's works this is light on action but the story is pretty solid."
I'm not sure of my exact words but that was the gist. The other comment was a while ago, but I do remember saying that it wasn't full of action. Most of my comments are substantive and I don't swear or spoil in them, so I thought maybe since I was new or something that I missed some rules.

Short comments are deleted. Short is defined by 2 or less lines of text in the admin section for series comments

Huh. I've seen shorter comments around so I didn't realize they needed to be a certain length.

Sometimes people get lucky. We have multiple people moderating comments, and not everyone uniformly follows the guidelines all the time.

I didn't know there was a minimum length for series comments. This is good to know. I will keep it in mind for future reviews/comments I make.
(I generally keep them short, since I like to read short comments/reviews myself - I hate reading essays!)

Sorry for bumping old thread, but I think this the one most fits.
So, I stumbled upon this page and read the very-first comment.
http://www.mangaupdates.com/series.html?id=50164
And I think it's so very rude...
Have been seeing many pages, still I never found a comment like that one...
If the comment judging the manga reasonably, that's fine.
But this one even started with
"First off. I am surprised by the amount of (girls?)homo-sapein'
bugs highly rate this piece of manour into a supreme league
so called 'manga'.(source : baka)"
And then continues mentioned monkey and monkey
May I ask why that one could still pass the moderation? 🙂
And sorry my question is so newbie...
