Hi, I'm going to give a quick and light spanish workshop in my campus, it's scheduled to last for 2 hours.
So do any of you have any tips for fun and casual games or activities to help practise speaking, writing and reading in a new language??
Since many here speak more than 2 languages, I thought some of you may remember something cool they did and liked when learning or maybe teaching another language.

I just remember droning 'sum es est sumus estis sunt' in a kind of chant en masse ? I think that a mad libs type of thing could be fun, where people only learn the meanings of the words after they plug them into the story. Or pictionary or charades where people draw/act out the meanings of the words. I don't know how much those games would facilitate learning though. Good luck!

Hi, there!
I don't know how old are your students, but you always remember to cover some vocabulary first.
Then, you can show movie scenes in which the words you taught are included. You can do the same if covering grammatical structures. Movies are motivating if you're in the classroom, students usually love watching them.
You can also use popular songs and make your students listen to them so they can fill gaps with the words or structures they listen. Then, you can make they sing the song so they can practice pronunciation.
Role plays are very useful to practice speaking. You just need to think in attractive situations or alternative worlds and contextualize in such a way that your students feel more motivated. Maybe, you can ask them role play famous pop characters they like and make them perform dialogues in Spanish.
Board games, or games that involve physical activity are perfect if you're working with kids.
If you need more help, send me a PM and I'll get back to you as soon as I can. I'm a teacher in real life and my native language is Spanish.
