what is your favorite fictional world. The fictional world doesn't have to be presented in a manga it could be shown in any form of media (books, tv shows, movies, comics ets) as long it is detailed and doesn't rely to heavily on real world mythology
mine are
one piece
the wheel of time
naruto (despite me disliking what the manga has become the naruto world is detailed and entertaining)
One Piece
Naruto (just the world)
Lord of the Rings
Sword of Truth
Doctor Who

I wonder if Terry Pratchett's Discworld counts?
It does rely heavily on our real world myths, but it is presented in a unique and entertaining way.
There's a little typo in your topic fyi. 🙂

"In my dream, the world had suffered a terrible disaster. A black haze shut out the sun, and the darkness was alive with the moans and screams of wounded people. Suddenly, a small light glowed. A candle flickered into life, symbol of hope for millions. A single tiny candle, shining in the ugly dark. I laughed and blew it out."

Wheel of Time
The best ever. It' really detailed, and both the world and the story are great.
Northern Lights (the golden compass)
Not the world itself, more the idea that peoples souls are outside their bodies.
nothing else comes to mind right now.

Tamora Pierce's the Circle series, not sure if its set in the the same world as the other series by her but I like the way the Circle's setting is presented better.
I also love Terry Pratchett's Discworld and I think it is eligible due to sheer character that he mangaes to put into his world.
Less long explanations, I like the worlds of HayatexBlade, Aqua and Aria, MxO and a few others that escape my mind right now.

Fairy Tail. There's no other world where I'd rather be. The whole thing about the guilds, magic, "monsters" is just beautiful and awesome. In my opinion you get a better idea of this if you watch the anime, because the backgrounds are nicer and the music sort of helps it along
In movies I'd say Zombieland!! Hell yeah! It would be a bumpy ride!
In series... Star Trek. Even though I didn't see the whole thing, the space theme is very appealing.
In games it has to be Mortal Kombat
