I remember reading this oneshot about two ginko trees that were planted next to each other, but I can't seem to find it. The trees were personified as two guys, one light haired and the other dark haired. The oneshot had a bunch of time skips, starting when the trees were being planted until eventually one tree dies, and the other tree reminisces about the other tree until he dies as well. However, they are later reunited in the form of ginko leaf-patterned boxes, if I remeber correctly. Also, when they are reunited, the tree that died first is wearing traditional clothing, while the one that died later is wearing more modern clothes.
