It's that time again: new poll time!
Question: What is your optimal manga length?
(Thanks go to the member Lucky9 for submitting the poll question)

I wonder how many people want Naruto/Bleach/One Piece to end...(Look at Prince of Tennis though; it finally ended...)

Previous Poll Stats:
Question: Do you watch the anime versions of the mangas you read?
Choices:
All the time - votes: 893 (13.1%)
If the manga was good - votes: 2901 (42.5%)
Only for specific genres - votes: 389 (5.7%)
Sometimes, if I have nothing better to do - votes: 1275 (18.7%)
No, I prefer to stick with the original manga - votes: 753 (11%)
I read the manga after watching the anime - votes: 617 (9%)
There were 6828 total votes.
The poll ended: April 5th 2008

Hmm, it appears that most people read the manga first, and then decide if they should watch the anime or not, as long as the manga was good. At least these are the stats for mainly manga readers...Just remember that anime seems to be more popular~

Animes are only popular cause... people are lazy bums and don't like reading. >[

Mangas ftw kthx. Animes are limited to only popular series, and people complain about how animes based on mangas have shitty endings. Um, read the manga then? o_O; Thus why I don't watch that much anime.

For this poll... damn, I had a hard time deciding between 6-10 and 11-20. XD

Heck yeah! Dubby you're absolutely right! I'm a manga fan through and through. Give the choice of a manga or an anime, I go for the manga.

6-10 is my usual preference.

I don't overly care about the length of the manga. I only care if the manga starts to become stretched out.

If the manga needs 80+ volumes for a proper conclusion, then so be it.

If the manga just needs 3 volumes to get to a conclusion, that's fine too.

I voted 1-5 volumes because I'm impatient; for example if there's a romance I'm usually anxious for the resolution.

a good plot takes time : ) i enjoy the manga, while slowly imagining that i'm in the story. but i'm not satisfied w/ reading the same thing forever, or something that takes a very very long time to end; i prefer reading many awesome mangas rather than reading one awesome but never-ending manga.

seinen: 1-5 volumes
shounen: 15-20 volumes (sadly this is rarely the case)

Most things I've read are 6~20. If they're good, I don't want them to stop, but they need to end sometime. It sucks when they extend the story with useless crap and bad plots. So like someone said earlier, however long it takes to develop the story. Some things end too quickly, others take too long. 6~10 is a good number. 11~20 is also good.

Seem like getting off topic here ^^'

I voted for "If the manga was good" since i love Manga more than anime. There are many fans out there who prefer anime over manga any day, but truthfully manga holds the better card when come face to face with anime. The pro of anime is that people watch-- not only read. you can hear their voices, have opening and ending songs, more thrilling. But the con to anime-- which results to con for manga, is the plot, the ending, the art and the originality. The most is the originality. Reading the manga is reading the original. So much better.

So...yeah, that's it ^^'

I remember seeing a forum of anime fans that hate manga. They stated that they didn't like looking at black and white still pictures.

I guess that they have no imaginations and don't see that the artwork is better in the manga. They also stated that they hated reading but what are they doing while watching the anime? Reading subtitles. And plus you can read a whole volume in like 30-45 mins when you only get 2 episodes done in 45 mins which is only like the first two chapters of a manga.

Manga is way better than anime.

For the poll, it depends. Like Hajime no Ippo it can go as long as it wants. But for Naruto, just end the damn thing already. It sucks. like 666 satan. so glad they ended that.

Wow. So many readers who enjoy never ending manga. Guess there are still a lot of Naruto/Bleach/One Piece fans out there. I wish there was a 11-15 volumes option though. Most series that approaches twenty tend to use up most of it's charm by then.
