Serial killer stories?

Hi, I'm really interested in mature, thoughtful stories about serial killers. That is to say, I'm interested in stories that examine the psychology of serial killers. So far, the best seinen series I have found that deal with this topic are:

Ichi the Killer
MPD Psycho
Monster

Sure, Death Note also stars a serial killer -- but I'm looking for something that doesn't feature supernatural powers that would make things "easier" for a killer. I'm looking for more-or-less realistic depictions of serial crime.

Are there any other serial killer stories people can recommend to me? I'd really appreciate it. Thanks.

Dexter.. The books or the TV series(http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0773262/)..
Its some amazing stuff about this serial killer that completely lacks human emotions.. he works as a forensics expert and he kills other serial killers on his free time..

As far as i know there's two books out atm.. and a third one will be released in the summer.. and the TV series is only one season of 12 one hour episodes that follows the first book.. a second season will probably start later this year..

It have nothing to do about manga and stuff but i really recommend it either way.. If youre into serial killers this is the stuff to watch/read..

Be sure to check out the manga Goth. It's pretty short, yet entertaining.

I'd go for Freesia, pearlesque.
The artwork is very crude and even messy at times. But if you like seinen, and I know you do, solid stories come first, and unusual art is more often than not a plus.
I'd describe it as completely off the wall crackpot.

Well.....Monster is a good manga about a mysterious killer. And outside of manga, i think Sherlock Holmes is pretty good.

...ehhh...let him try if that is what he is trying to do. There's plenty of good detectives left in Scotland Yard.

uhhh...ok......I see you have nothing to do today.

Another good suspense manga with the same author is 20th century boys. his manga is nothing as described by the appearance of the cover page.

I agree, Monster and 20th Century Boys (both written by Naoki Urasawa) are great serial killer/seinen series, and you should definately read those and give them a try if you like that genre.
Another series following that line which I can think of now are Kindaichi case files, or Kindaichi Shounen no Jikenbo. If you want to browse for more series you could search seinen here on the site, and maybe you'll find one you like.

No but his thought process was similar to one. Hehe what I meant is that certain people who may already disturbed may get ideas from certain media. Come on, a manga where the protagonist is a serial killer and his methods are described in detail as well as his thoughts. I was not attacking them having this conversation all I said was that it was interesting. Hence the hmmmmmm...... I've only read a little piece of ichi the killer and it drew me in. If I was already psycotic I would get ideas from some of these mangas. That doesn't mean that the manga or movie ar books they read cause them to take action, at that point they are already in that state of mind and they can get ideas from anywhere, the news, the internet, anywhere. I doubt that if they do an autopsy on the virginia tech guy's body they will find a tumor or something physically explaining the madness. I just don't get that vibe off of his tapes. Well you never kow I guess. 😐
